I always found it a terrible irony that one who loves birds - the freest, most travel-riffic creature on the planet, would place them in tiny jails to watch them rip feathers out of their little bodies and squawk all the live-long days. Especially parrots.

I've heard parrots in the wild. They do NOT make the kind of hideous noises they make in captivity. It's the sound of madness, if you ask me.

There was a nest of baby birds that became trapped inside the wall of my house. One day, I could hear them, it was a very slight change in their sound, but the desperation was there. It was so awful. A day later, there was silence, and an odor. I felt so horrible that I didn't save them. But that sound, you're right about it. Even in something as simple as a chirp, you can hear it.

Good, all the works have their own climate. Yours. :)

haha, i love that comment. i was asked why i don't do self-portraits one time and my response was 'i don't? I thought they were all self-portraits.'

ha! I do like the eyes. I start with the eyes each time I start a layer, like starting with dessert first.
Then it's like there is a timer before I lose interest in the painting. My efforts get progressively more half-assed, the farther away from the eyes I get.

Hmm, maybe switching to having desert last would help to motivate you? :)
